Attention Residents of Gurugram!
The Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) is launching a targeted enforcement drive to curb unauthorized construction and illegal commercial activities in upscale residential colonies across the city.
Why the crackdown?
- Rising complaints of illegal extensions.
- Misuse of stilt areas.
- Basement constructions.
- Residential properties being used for commercial purposes (showrooms, restaurants, grocery shops, guest houses).
- Homebuyers converting stilt parking into rooms.
- Constructing unauthorized structures in open spaces.
- Building five to seven-storey buildings without sanctioned plans.
What’s Happening?
- Weekly Camps: DTCP’s enforcement wing will hold weekly camps in prominent colonies.
- On-the-Spot Inspections: Complaints will be verified on the spot.
- Immediate Action: If violations are found, show-cause notices will be issued and pasted the same day.
- Dedicated Teams: Each camp will include a planning assistant, junior engineer, and assistant town planner to verify complaints.
Key Procedures:
- Property owners have 15 days to submit a response after receiving a notice.
- If the response is unsatisfactory, or if illegal construction is not removed within seven days after notice expiry, sealing proceedings will be initiated.
Targeted Colonies Include: DLF I to 5, Sushant Lok 1, 2 and 3, South City 1 and 2, Malibu Towne, Palam Vihar, Vatika India Next, Greenwood City, Nirvana Country, and Bestech Amstoria, among others.
