New Delhi: A significant shift in the urban landscape of the National Capital is imminent as the Delhi Master Plan 2041 is set for rapid implementation. This ambitious plan, currently in its final stages, is poised to trigger the urbanization of 48 villages across Delhi, a move described by the Public Works Department Minister, Parvesh Verma, as a historic shift in the city’s development trajectory.
Minister Verma, speaking on Saturday during a visit to Daulatpur village in southwest Delhi, confirmed that the long-awaited Master Plan 2041 is on track for implementation very soon. The core objective, he stated, is not merely the creation of policies but their transparent and accountable execution on the ground.
A key announcement accompanying the plan’s rollout is the decision to make the first registry of properties falling under the ‘Lal Dora’ category completely free of cost. This crucial step is anticipated to be a game-changer in resolving long-standing property disputes within these village areas and empowering residents to obtain legal ownership documents without incurring financial burdens.
The urbanization of these 48 villages is expected to fundamentally change their character, bringing them facilities and infrastructure on par with urban areas. This includes essential amenities such as paved roads, robust drainage systems, reliable water supply, street lighting, and access to educational and healthcare facilities.
